I Wish you a Merry Quilt-A-long! Block Eleven!

North Star

I finished block 11, North Star, for both of my Merry Quilt-A-Long quilts.  I love it.  I had some trouble deciding on which colors to use and finally settled on Christmas colors red, green, and white for the solid color quilt. For the second quilt I used bright and shiny fabric. I think I like the first North Star better.  … ….oh there’s more

I Wish you a Merry Quilt-A-long! Block Ten!

Posted on December 5, 2017 by Kathy GreenDecember 5, 2017

There’s no wrong in quilting. That’s what I tell everyone that asks my opinion on putting their quilts together. No. Wrong. I sometimes wonder why someone would put a quilt together quite like that but I never say it’s wrong.  I often say, “well, this is how I might do it”, but usually when someone asks me my advice they … ….oh there’s more

I Love Home Quilt-A-Long -- almost done!

Last Tuesday I mentioned that I was going to get all caught up in my sewing room. Well….that didn’t happen. But I did just about get the I Love Home Quilt done! From the beginning I didn’t plan to finish the quilt the way the QAL is supposed to go.  First, because the final step won’t be out until December … ….oh there’s more

I Love Home BOM Block 4

I Love Home BOM Block 4

I finished the last block for the I Love Home BOM quilt a long! Yeah! Because I messed up block number 3, I didn’t have enough of the solid salmon colored fabric to do this block in the same color way. Had to use white instead.  So now I’m just about out of white! But that’s okay.  I’ll make it work! … ….oh there’s more

And this week is…..

Posted on November 21, 2017 by Kathy GreenNovember 21, 2017

the week that I get caught up! Well, maybe in my sewing corner. (Forget all about all of those websites that need updating!) I’m not volunteering at the learning center this week–closed for school holidays!  Not even ukulele class!  (still going to yoga, though)   The last block of the I love Home Quilt came out a couple of weeks … ….oh there’s more

What I’ve been up to!

t-shirt

I missed an entire week of posting! But I’ve got a really good excuse this time. Cause I was helping out at the 43rd Homosassa Arts, Crafts, and Seafood Festival.  Getting ready.  Making things.  Planning things.  Moving things. Ok. This is one of the biggest festivals on the Nature Coast.  Right here in little Old Homosassa.  The entire community is … ….oh there’s more

I Wish you a Merry Quilt-A-long! Block Nine!

reindeer games

Reindeer Games! From Snowy Days Quilting. Poor Rudolph.  Kinda looks cross eyed! There are so many itty bitty pieces with this block. Fortunately the instructions were very detailed.  The first step was to make sure you were actually sewing with an accurate 1/4″ seam. I followed every step.  Each section that was finished gave the correct size for that piece … ….oh there’s more

Happy Halloween

wine wrap

Last Saturday, I was looking for the instructions for the beer boo bag that I made last year.  Took awhile to find them since I hadn’t put it under the “tote” category.  It’s there now! Had a Halloween party to go to and, as usual, waited until the last minute to pull a hostess gift together.  Thought I’d just … ….oh there’s more

I Wish you a Merry Quilt-A-long! Block Eight!

I Wish you a Merry Quilt-A-long! Block Seven!

Presents, block 8 in the I Wish You a Merry Quilt-A-Long, is from Alice Samuel’s Quilt Company. As soon as I saw this block, I knew it would be a challenge. Mostly because I just didn’t care for it. The perspective is kind of weird. And it doesn’t look very Christmasy. I have to congratulate the designer for creating this … ….oh there’s more

Felt Animal Masks

Posted on October 24, 2017 by Kathy GreenOctober 23, 2017

How cute are these masks? Adorable, right? I downloaded the pattern and tutorial quite some time ago from Rebecca Page’s blog.  And I changed the fox mask into a cat because I had a teenager that BEGGED me to make the cat mask for her.  She said she would model it at the our Fashion Fantasy show back in March.  … ….oh there’s more
