Fall Into a Quilt-A-Long Block 1

Fall Into a Quilt-A-Long Block 1

I mentioned last Thursday that I decided to do the “Fall into a Quilt-A-Long.”  Brought to you by the same designers that created “I Wish you a Merry Quilt-A-Long”. The first block convinced me that I should do it–a hedge hog.  And applique! How cute is this little guy? The designer is Vanda Chittendon and you can download the tutorial … ….oh there’s more

More Quilty Thoughts

Binding

I’ve been home from my visit to ND for a couple of weeks now.  Decided to COMPLETELY reorganize almost all of our house. Starting with moving all of my sewing stuff from my “creative cave” upstairs to the main guest bedroom.  (Don’t worry friends and family, the Murphy bed is still usable and the TV remains on the wall.  Just … ….oh there’s more

Magster the Wagster

maggie

In case you don’t read my other blog, “Just a Slice of Life in Perfect”, or follow me on FaceBook.  My sweet little pooch Maggie passed away on April 30th. She was 18 years and 5 months old.  Took a mile walk almost every morning. Gave me attitude since I got her at 6 weeks old.  Was my best buddy. … ….oh there’s more

Simple Lined Tote

Simple Lined Tote

I volunteer quite a bit at the Old Homosassa Learning Center.  We have programs for kids and adults.  On Thursdays we sew.  From 12:30 – 3:00 we have the “Sew Cool! Workshop” for the adults and then the kids sew in the after-school program, “Sew Cool Kids!” The adult session is not really a class. We have a “coach” that … ….oh there’s more

Quilty Thoughts

Posted on May 3, 2018 by Kathy GreenMay 3, 2018

I admit to becoming a quilting “snob” over the past few years—only buying fabrics from quilt shops and online sites that sell the brands that I recognize as high end.  I’ve even extended that to quilting thread.  It takes a LOT of hours to design, create, then quilt the project to a finish. I’m going to make sure I use … ….oh there’s more

Back in my Creative Cave

Posted on May 1, 2018 by Kathy GreenApril 29, 2018

Had a wonderful time with my grandkids last week. In North Dakota. Bismarck/Mandan.  Where everyone was marveling about the great weather after a wicked long winter and I was wrapped in layers and exclaiming “what’s with this wind?” And the response was, “ohhhhhh—It is North Dakota!” Terry could even hear the wind over my iPhone while I was at the … ….oh there’s more

Gallery Wall of Pretty

Gallery wall of pretty

Since I’m in North Dakota with NO sewing tools, I couldn’t make any progress on my “Down the Rabbit Hole” quilt.  But I did find some pics to share with you. I don’t have a lot of display space in my office/sewing room so I don’t hang mini-quilts.  My walls are taken up with shelves, a design spot, a bulletin … ….oh there’s more

Guitar Strap DIY

guitar strap

Way back in August 2017 I posted about my “Perfect Personal Item Travel Bag” that I made to the exact measurements for an Allegiant personal item.  I had planned to make a “guitar strap” for it but couldn’t find tri-glides in antique brass.  I ended up ordering them online—probably from China.  It took a couple weeks to get here and … ….oh there’s more

Stars and Patches Quilt Update

Down the rabbit hole

I made significant progress on the “Stars and Patches” quilt. The top is  DONE! And so is the backing! I also came up with a name for the quilt. I really couldn’t come up with a name for this one. Almost settled on “Oh, My Stars”. Even made the label. But “Down The Rabbit Hole” seemed more like it. The … ….oh there’s more

In the Garden

The view from perfect

I have always been so pleased with my yard and gardens. I love coddling my plants and then watching new sprouts reach up for the sun. But this has been a bad year. Severely cold weather in January wiped out many of my tropicals.  Still hoping that my large plumeria that was planted by the water will come back.  (doubtful … ….oh there’s more
