Fall Into a Quilt-A-Long Block 4

Block 4 -- sunshine

I was on vacation!  Yeah!  Fun! Went to North Myrtle Beach to visit friends, Terry and Phil. Then on to Washington DC to spend the weekend with daughter Jessica and son-in-law Andrew.  (Andrew is Terry and Phil’s son!) Got home Tuesday afternoon.  This was a driving vacation.  Nice to not have to deal with TSA or flight schedules, but that … ….oh there’s more

Fall Into a Quilt-A-Long Block 3

I was supposed to have more on my “Crafty Bag” this past Tuesday. Between construction going on in the backyard, meeting with contractors, doing my own bit in that mess to save money, budget meetings with the water district, spending time with family that visited….along with a 4-day conference in Orlando–that didn’t happen. Terry says that I try to put … ….oh there’s more

Quilty Color

Tallin

I haven’t gotten anywhere with my “Tell me a Story” quilt because I have been having “deep thoughts” about how I’m going to finish it. I really want to use free-motion quilting—especially to define the rabbits. I do not want to pay $199.99 for an extension table which seems to be a requirement for this quilting method. I’m pondering alternatives now—surely … ….oh there’s more

basic boxed bottom bag

Basic Boxed Bottom Bag Love me some alliteration! There are a LOT of ways to make bags and today I’m going to cover the Boxed Bottom Method and how to calculate the measurements for your bag. I’ve had many questions about that over the years so I’m making a new tutorial! Woo-hoo. I’ve decided that I need a traveling “Crafty Bag”.  Something … ….oh there’s more

I’ve been having some issues with this blog and my other website, Just a Slice of Life in Perfect. Minor stuff but it’s starting to add up and it’s about time to update and upgrade! I plan to continue posting but the websites could possibly be offline periodically! (Hopefully not for long!) Besides that, I’ve got some trips scheduled for … ….oh there’s more

Fall Into a Quilt-A-Long Block 2

Fall Into a Quilt-A-Long Block 2

Block 2 of the Fall Into a QAL was released last week.  A Harvest Basket designed by April Adams of Janda Bend Quilts. This was pretty easy.  Just had to make sure that all those seams were lined up exactly.  Accuracy is very important! Not just in horse shoes and hand grenades. I love the colors and prints that I … ….oh there’s more

Basic Shopping Tote

Basic Shopping Tote

So I moved my “creative cave” upstairs about a month ago. Still struggling with that decision! When I was downstairs I had a lot of storage spaces with fabric tucked all over the place.  A chest in the hall way and another in the sewing room.  Beautiful boxes on top of armoires. A trunk in the bedroom closet.  Wicker baskets … ….oh there’s more

“Down the Rabbit Hole” Quilt — Finished!

"Down the Rabbit Hole" Quilt -- Finished!

I finished!  YAY! I’ve been making this quilt for a loooong time.  Mostly because I couldn’t decided what I was going to do with these stars. I got the free pattern for the seven point stars from SewHooked.com. And LOVED IT! There’s even instructions on how to enlarge the STARS so I made each one in a different size. And … ….oh there’s more

Triangular Coin Purse

I’m still in the Ribbon of the Month Club from Renaissance Ribbons.  I should quit.  There are several unopened packs and I told myself way back when I joined that I had to use them or get out. But… they are just so darn pretty! Anyhow, every month the club includes ideas on how to use the ribbons.  One of … ….oh there’s more

“Down the Rabbit Hole” Quilt

I made a LOT of progress on the “Down the Rabbit Hole” Quilt in the last week. First I want to talk about basting the quilt which I did a couple of weeks ago. I have done pin-basting and spray-basting several times.  Both are hard on the knees because the backing has to be taped down to the floor then … ….oh there’s more
