Block 12

At long last the very final block came out Tuesday!  Seems like forever that I’ve been doing this quilt, right? Block number 12 in the Fall Into a Quilt-A-Long is an applique–easy peasy! The designer for this cute owl block is Vanda Chittenden of Quilting with Vanda. And here’s my version…. This was pretty simple after I finally decided which … ….oh there’s more

Cricut Thoughts and Meanderings

Posted on October 16, 2018 by Kathy GreenOctober 16, 2018

I’ve had my Cricut Maker since the beginning of September.  I created a space for it to live.  Ordered a whole lot of accessories. And there it sat. In its own special place. I did some studying.  Read lots of blogs and the FAQs that came on the Design Space website. But still I hesitated. Then I was home for … ….oh there’s more

Fall Into a Quilt-A-Long Block 11

Love this quilt block. The red barn.  The blue sky.  The green grass.  Such great primary colors. This piece is from Sparkle On with Abbie.  Along with the tutorial, the designer shared some photos on her blog of her favorite red barns in Centre County, Pennsylvania. Which made me reminisce about my childhood. I spent my first 18 years on … ….oh there’s more

Another Pretty Apron

Sooooooo….. Sewing and Quilting are not cheap hobbies. I’m always looking for a deal. I bought this fabric, English Garden by Rifle Paper Company, from Lady Belle Fabric.  With a discount coupon from one of the many quilt blogs that I stalk.  It was only good for a few days.  Last time there was a good coupon on a blog, … ….oh there’s more

Oh Christmas Tree Quilt

Okay.  It’s about time that I started posting about holiday projects.  After all, there’s only 82 days left to get stuff done! Last Christmas. I made. FIVE QUILTS! Christmas Quilts. As gifts. I wrote about all of them except the “Oh Christmas Tree” Quilt. (If you click on the following snaps, you’ll go to the post) I was a little … ….oh there’s more

tell me a story quilt

It’s the second day of October!  Only how many days until Christmas????? My Babylock Unity sewing machine went on a spa vacation a few weeks ago.  Was supposed to be all nice and refreshed in a few days but the automatic needle threader was bent and a new one is on order. (Yes, I told the lady at the shop–I … ….oh there’s more

Pretty Apron from Sew4Home.com

I try to do simple projects at the weekly Sew Cool! Workshop at the Old Homosassa Learning Center because there is a lot of chattering (that would be me and my friends) and I also need to be able to drop everything if any  sewists need help. I have a hard time concentrating with all that going on.  So easy peasy … ….oh there’s more

Block 10

My first thought when I saw Block 10 on Tuesday morning was, “What colors am I going to use for this one that will work with my Fall color theme?” My second thought was, YAY! easy peasy! patchwork and appliqué! After completing Block 8 which was paper piecing and Block 9 which was a postage stamp block I was happy … ….oh there’s more

Fall Into a Quilt-A-Long Block 9

Lots of little bits for this Turkey Postage Stamp block. Yikes. But as usual, the designer, Karen at Tuna Quilts, Travels and Eats, had excellent instructions and even some hints.  I also went out to all the other designers of the Fall into a QAL and checked out their turkeys.  They always have great ideas. The instructions were so good … ….oh there’s more

Tyger Tyger Burning Bright

My latest quilt! It’s all about fun. Fun colors. Fun prints. Fun design. Tyger Tyger! I loved this print from the Art Gallery fabric line Tallinn by Jessica Swift. I also wanted to recycle some of the denim jeans that I’ve been hoarding and I thought this blue cat print was purrfect!  (Ha—that’s not even funny!) There are so many color … ….oh there’s more
