Happy May Day!

Posted on May 1, 2019 by Kathy GreenMay 1, 2019

Good Morning, or afternoon, or whenever you get a chance to read this! I’ve decided to take the month of May off from blogging! I’ve got places to go and people to see so won’t have much of a chance to actually sit at a sewing machine or computer keyboard. Very excited about changing up my life a little. And … ….oh there’s more

Easy Child-Size Apron

Piper Apron

How lucky am I to have my sweet granddaughter Piper from North Dakota visit last week? Had such a great time. Piper and I do lots of stuff. There was swimming and going to Twistee Treat. Piper is quite artsy so we spent a lot of time drawing and singing. Sometimes we play ukulele. One thing that Piper and I … ….oh there’s more

One more about the rabbits

One more about the rabbits

During one of the recent Sew Cool! Workshop sessions, one of the women asked me what I do with all the softies I sew. I pondered that for a bit because I’ve made a lot over the years. Sharks, mermaids, dolls–and a lot of rabbits. But–until I started my recent softie obsession–I only had one creature in stock. It seems … ….oh there’s more

Just Hopping Along!

Posted on April 9, 2019 by Kathy GreenFebruary 28, 2020 2

I’m continuing on my softie journey with more rabbits! This time I used a Spring Bunny Tutorial I found on SewMamaSew.com by Lorraine from ikat bag Updated on February 28, 2020, SewMamaSew.com is no longer “live”. You may be able to contact Lorraine at ikat bag to get the pattern. It was so cute! How could I resist? I followed … ….oh there’s more

And I decided to make a bunny

Posted on April 2, 2019 by Kathy GreenFebruary 28, 2020 4

I made a bag…. Then I made a bunny…to match the bag….cause bags are always better with a matching friend! Introducing “Blue Jean Baby Queen”…. With an adorable pom pom tail and button jointed arms and legs. And then I fell down the “rabbit hole” (Ha!) I became obsessed with making the perfect bunny! Unfortunately, the next rabbit was not … ….oh there’s more

Shopping Tote with Options

shopping tote

I mentioned in a previous post that several participants of the Sew Cool! Workshop used my Basic Shopping Tote pattern (link updated on 2/13/2020) and made a BUNCH of totes as Christmas gifts. I was talking to an artist the other day and she said, Yeah, Irma gave me a tote for Christmas. And then I heard that the postmistress … ….oh there’s more

Partners in Design released their new Mystery Quilt-A-Long and the theme is sewing. Which is very cool! The Sewing Machine by Sandra Healy Designs is the first block. But….. I put a lot of thought into this and I just don’t have enough hours in the day to start a new quilt right now. Something’s gotta give! I’ll have more … ….oh there’s more

Shrimpapalooza

It’s been very quiet here in my little corner of the blogosphere. I’m back and it’s time to make some noise! I’ve been working on lots of sewing projects but they are probably not “blog worthy”. But….I decided to share this one with you anyhow. I live in a former fishing village. Once upon a time, there were no tourists … ….oh there’s more

Let’s Get Organized — Thread Drawer and Questions

Posted on February 26, 2019 by Kathy GreenFebruary 26, 2019 2

I’ve made two thread drawers for my Ikea Alex cabinet. This was the first one and I use it to hold all of my cotton quilting threads and matching bobbins. My husband Terry helped me make this first drawer using peg board and dowels. We glued them in. You can check out the original post here. I like to keep … ….oh there’s more

My Peace Quilt Wall Hanging

My Peace Quilt Wall Hanging

“Partners in Design” will be announcing their new quilt along on February 26. I did the “Fall into a QAL” and the “I Wish you a Merry Quilt A Long” from the same designers. Looking forward to seeing what the next theme will be. (Lauri, you need another quilt for Christmas?” I stumbled across another mystery QAL that I’m interested … ….oh there’s more
