heart log cabin

For you today, I have TWO quilty heart blocks! Both finish at 7″. I’ve been planning on making a better tutorial for this heart block since way back when I first put it together in February 2016! And finally, five years later! I did it! You have a couple weeks left before the day of hearts so you could easily … ….oh there’s more

Sewing Room Refresh Continues

design board

After struggling with the making of the new cushions for my chairs, I thought that I should take on something a little easier. I had this bulletin board that was hidden away in my laundry room for the past several years. It had definitely seen better days but I thought I could spruce it up. Give it some personality. And … ….oh there’s more

Valentine Hearts

On my last quilty post, I said that I was busy working on a different quilt that was my own design. I thought about that statement quite a bit after it was posted. I’ve actually been working on a BLOCK. Not an entire quilt. (Although I hope to turn it into an entire quilt!) And this block is not my … ….oh there’s more

sewing room chair with rifle paper company fabric

First up in my 2021 Refresh for my sewing room is RECOVERED CUSHIONS with the lovely Strawberry Fields canvas from Rifle Paper Company. Pretty! I am not making a tutorial for boxed cushions with piping and zippers. This is really a difficult project. Directions for these are way beyond my skill level! Everytime I make cushions I swear “NEVER AGAIN”. … ….oh there’s more

Moda Blockheads3

Over the past three weeks I finished eight of the blocks from this quilt-a-long. Starting with Block 45 and ending with Block 52. I’m not going into each block because there are a lot of them! And you can grab all of the blocks for Moda Blockheads 3 on the Block Heads 3 Archive. I have to admit that I … ….oh there’s more

Sewing Room Refresh!

Rifle Paper Co. Basics

Okay. Much to my dismay. I give up. My sewing room is now permanently in my former dining room. It is just not feasible to go up and down those 14 steps 10 times a day. Unfortunately I am moving from a space that was double where I had plenty of space for all my tools and fabric. (sad face) … ….oh there’s more

Moda Blockheads3

I was kinda surprised when I went through my blog and counted the quilts that I had completed in 2020. Only FOUR! Happy Little Things Scrappy Times Quilt I Norah Quilt, Scrappy Times 2 Quilt And the last quilt is the Christmas Hexie Quilt. It’s seems like I was cutting up little bits and pieces and stitching them back together … ….oh there’s more

Hello 2021!

Things I have resolved to do…. Cut back on using SO and BUT in my posts. (Sooooooo, what will I use instead?) Take more photos and post them on my other blog. Just a Slice of Life in Perfect. It is perfect here on the Nature Coast–if you like “nature” and the “coast”. If you like high rises and beaches, … ….oh there’s more

2020 Wrap Up

Posted on December 31, 2020 by Kathy GreenDecember 30, 2020

This is it! The last day of the worst year ever. Seriously. I don’t know if it could get any worse. Besides quarantine, isolation, risk of pandemic death, political chaos, and a dearth of paper products, I smashed my knee and was stuck on a walker for three months. At least I never ran out of junk food or fabric! … ….oh there’s more

Today will be a hodge podge of stuff! I’m posting this on both of my blogs, so if you read one, you don’t have to read the other! We have been quite busy working with the Homosassa Civic Club, providing gifts for the kids that might go without. The civic club was able to provide gifts for 59 children this … ….oh there’s more
