cats in pajamas baby quilt

Finally! I feel like I’ve been creating quilty cats for a year. But, not in reality. I started right before Easter and made two pillows for my granddaughters. Then I made a third pillow for grandson Arthur…. and a fourth for Fae….. Now a baby-sized cat quilt is finished! And soon on its way to Fae’s new sister, Fiona Elizabeth, … ….oh there’s more

Posted on June 26, 2025 by Kathy GreenJune 25, 2025

June has been a craaaaaazzzzyyyyy month. The kitchen is finally finished, I’ve unpacked all the boxes and put everything in tentative locations, friends from Florida came for a week, then Terry, the two granddaughters, and I went on our annual summer adventure. This year to DC. Before leaving I very quickly put together the “Cats in Pajamas” pillow for grandson … ….oh there’s more

as to why I haven’t been posting as often….. I was crazy busy with unpacking the kitchen plus hanging art. I wanted to have everything finished before posting pics of the new kitchen. I ordered a table which was supposed to be delivered two weeks ago but didn’t happen. Now I have a big empty space which I will eventually … ….oh there’s more

cats in pajamas

It is SO NICE to have a fully-functioning kitchen again. But going through the boxes with all of my lovely things that have been stored in the garage is taking forever. (Although I have enjoyed unwrapping each piece and placing it in its new home.) Meanwhile, I haven’t been in my sewing studio very much. But. I did finish the … ….oh there’s more

It’s been an exciting week. My kitchen is almost finished. Probably all done by the end of next week. I have water. I have a dishwasher. I have an oven. I can cook again. But the kitchen still has a bunch of finishing touches. Hopefully by the end of next week. We shall see! I made a lot of progress … ….oh there’s more

nightstand refinished

Last Tuesday, I fully intended to have a new tote all complete and ready to post today. But. Besides doing all the summer holiday weekend chores like getting the deck furniture out and working in the garden, I decided I should spend some time finishing up projects before I started something fresh and much more fun! First off, I finished … ….oh there’s more

quilty progress

I was in Garrison last week and had to support both quilt shops in town by purchasing lots of fabric. Because I should help the local economy, right? When I got home I was motivated to get back to sewing. After all, I did have a lot of NEW fabric! Here’s what my design wall looked like when I returned….. … ….oh there’s more

I have countertops And a big ass sink! But. The kitchen is still entirely useless. Oh wait, it’s really pretty. That’s useful, right? And back to the wee kitchen in the dungeon…errrr, I mean basement, errr, I mean lovely guest suite. My contractor claims that he will be done by June. Eleven days and counting….. Anyhow… Since making Lauri her … ….oh there’s more

sandhill sling for Lauri

I have been watching my granddaughters in Garrison, ND, and haven’t been in my sewing studio. So I thought I’d share with you the latest Sandhill Sling that I made. This is the last project that I finished before I left DC. Also the last project on the Juki TL-18 for a few months. It is such a great machine … ….oh there’s more

Quilty Cats and other Stories

quilty cats

Last week I was 99.9% sure that I was not making more cat blocks. I filed the pattern away and even threw out all the little labels I use to identify the fabric pieces. I was a bit disappointed in some of the kittens. I didn’t like how the black eyes just disappeared in the dark fabric. And I didn’t … ….oh there’s more
