organizing

One more post about organization in my Creative Cave. (I’m not finished going through all my fabric and supplies but that will be posts for another day–in the months ahead.) I’ve shown you the cabinets and boxes that I hide my fabric and supplies in. This one is about the items that get me through each project. Trays. I have … ….oh there’s more

Organizing in 2023

I’ve “gifted” myself the month of January to get my creative cave organized, efficient, and pretty. I might still be sewing but mainly working on this room. Two of my most popular posts are regarding thread organization. One is for my cotton threads for quilting and the other is for polyester threads. Now I’m sharing ideas for the rest of … ….oh there’s more

Reality. Organizing. 2023.

Posted on January 5, 2023 by Kathy GreenJanuary 4, 2023

We were lucky enough to get to spend Christmas in DC with some of our family–Daughter, Son-in-Law, Grandson, and Step Son. It was great until we couldn’t get home. We made the mistake of flying on Southwest and they canceled all flights–including ours. Our short visit turned into an 11 day stayover. Which gave me plenty of time to think, … ….oh there’s more

My daughter-in-law made me this shirt! Her birthday is this week too and my granddaughter’s was last week. Next year we should have matching shirts! Highlights of 2022 … ….oh there’s more

2022 Christmas Village

2022 Christmas Village

One last Christmas DIY post. I made a village. I purchased most of these little homes from Hobby Lobby last year. 40% off. Of course, they are bird houses. I had every intention of making the village when I bought the little houses back then–but I didn’t. Then a friend in my sewing workshop showed me a YouTube video a … ….oh there’s more

Gift Bag DIY

Over 30 years ago a few of my friends and family got together at my house and made cookies. We baked together. Ate lots of snacks. Drank adult beverages. And it continued. Every year. Picking up more friends and family. Baking at my house. The only exception was a short time that I lived in Katy, TX. And even then, … ….oh there’s more

Dinosaurs Quilt Update

dinosaurs quilt

I first posted about the “Dinosaurs” quilt by Elizabeth Hartman a little more than a month ago. It has been a very s-l-o-w process. This is one of the very few quilt patterns that I have purchased. I can quite often recreate the pattern for a quilt I might like with graph paper and a ruler. But there is no … ….oh there’s more

dinosaur name pillows

From the middle of October through the middle of November is a crazy busy time for me. The Homosassa Arts, Crafts, and Seafood Festival–I’ve mentioned it many times over the years. Terry and I started running the event back in 2015 and were responsible for just about everything. Terry continues as the chairperson but we now have people in place. … ….oh there’s more

Easy Peasy Fabric Christmas Tree DIY

Posted on November 22, 2022 by Kathy GreenNovember 22, 2022

I haven’t been posting as often as usual—just got over with our big event of the year–the Homosassa Arts, Crafts, and Seafood Festival. Lots of work but we raised lots of money to give back to our community. The little bit of time I have had to sew has been spent on the Dinosaurs quilt for my grandson’s Christmas present. … ….oh there’s more
