I’ve been thinking a lot lately. About stuff. And about changes. Which are inevitable. That is the very first title of the very first WordPress post back on May 1st, 2012. I had been writing my website in HTML and the change I was referring to was that I was bringing it over to the blogging software WordPress. I have … ….oh there’s more

turkey from deliah Iris designs

Ok. Continuing with my infatuation with creating baskets, I found this free felt basket tutorial on Suzy Quilts. Since I brought almost all of my wool-blend felt with me from ND, I have been looking for more fun felt projects so this was perfect! I made the medium size. It’s easy. All hand stitched. There is even a video tutorial … ….oh there’s more

Let’s address traveling with a pet…. I had a small Jack Russell. Maggie. She went all over the country with me. When we flew, she was quite often in first class. Under the seat. When we drove, she had her own car seat that was buckled in and she was attached to. High enough to look out the window. She … ….oh there’s more

rope bowls

Rope bowls, textile bowls, textile pinch pots, tube bowls, jelly roll bowls…. So many names, also so many different methods to make them. A few weeks ago, I became obsessed with making bowls. Watched lots of YouTube videos…. Here are rope bowls 2, 3, and 4. The first one was such a disaster that I took it apart and made … ….oh there’s more

Furniture updates

Thought I’d just throw this picture in…..I have apple and pear trees in my back yard! And they were VERY productive this year. Yummy! (Okay, I did not grown the bananas! Although I did grow bananas in Florida but not very successfully!) And back to the subject of this post….. Like most sewists and quilters, I have many other crafts … ….oh there’s more

Back at it — the Riley Quilt

Posted on October 16, 2025 by Kathy GreenOctober 15, 2025

I have made quite a bit of progress on the Riley quilt. All the blocks are finished. Since I haven’t decided if I will make two twin quilts or one king, I made 25 blocks. If I made the smaller size, I need 12 blocks for each one. Three across and four down. For the king I need 25. Five … ….oh there’s more

Halloween projects final 2025, skeletons

Several weeks ago, I told myself I would be done with all the spooky projects on October 1st. No more work on Halloween items even if they were half finished. There’s always next year! Right? And today is already October 2nd! Halloween! Thanksgiving! Christmas! The “ber” months are flying by. Here are my final Halloween projects …. I went out … ….oh there’s more

halloween panels

Okay. Now for the panels. Starting with how I ended up with more than I could possibly finish before Halloween….. I wanted the panel on the upper right, “Till Death Do Us Part” by Deborah Edwards for Northcutt. It would look so cool in my living room! Right? Saw it on Instagram, went out to the website that advertisd it, … ….oh there’s more

Halloween Projects 2025 pillows

I bought some new Halloween panels and pulled out the projects that I didn’t finish last year and stuck them to my design wall. I bought some Halloween fabric to go along with the above pieces. I’ve been fairly busy outside of my sewing studio the past few months but this week was an anomaly. I had to stay home … ….oh there’s more

Quilty meanderings

riley quilt

Last week it was cold! Freeze warnings! We switched the fireplace on! Athena curled up on the denim quilt in front of the hearth. Cut a bunch of flowers that were in bloom, picked the ripe tomatoes and peppers, made pumpkin bread. It was “fake fall”! This week it is in the 80s! Very lovely weather! But the leaves are … ….oh there’s more
