Are you ready for some football?
It’s almost Super Bowl Sunday!
Having a party?
Well, if so, I’ve got some fun and easy ideas!
How about this for a cool table runner?
And it’s SUPER easy-peasy!
Bought some inexpensive green cotton quilting fabric from Jo-ann’s. I cut it 26″ by the width of the fabric–42″. Those yard lines would have been really easy with some white bias tape–if I had only thought to pick that up when I was at Jo-anne’s! I made these by cutting 2″ strips of white muslin and making my own 1/2″ tape. Then I glued them down with Roxanne’s Glue Baste-it about 3 1/2″ apart. This was my first time with this glue baste and it really worked. Those stripes didn’t budge. It’s supposed to be temporary and will wash out.
Then I put batting on the wrong side of the fabric and stitched one side of the yard markers. Added white muslin right sides together, left an opening for turning, turned right side out, top stitched around the edges and then stitched the other side of the yard markers just so the backing wouldn’t move around when I washed it. (Yes, this table runner will be washed!)
Picked up the goal posts at the dollar store. Yeah. One Dollar.
Same with the little footballs.
Not the miniature helmet though. I actually got that when I went to the SuperBowl! Yikes! I actually got to go back in 2012. Too much fun!
I’m not a big football fan but I do enjoy a good party and gotta say that the SuperBowl was the best party ever!
Here I am at the SuperBowl “tailgate” party with my friend. We were the tambourine girls for the band! I always wanted to do that!
And here I am on the field after the game!
That was seven years ago. The Patriots were in that game, too. They lost.
Ok. Back to the DIY.
Next up–penalty flags. Gotta admit that I got this idea off of Pinterest. Ordered the yellow napkins from Amazon. Had the buckets for several years but bought them originally at Target.
Along with a LOT of snacks, we had a “taco in the bag” bar with ground beef and ground turkey. I had never heard of this dish until my daughter-in-law in North Dakota introduced it to me. You take the snack bag of Doritoes, slit it open on the side, fill with all the yummy ingredients. One of my friends said it’s also called “Walking Tacos”. Doesn’t matter what you call it. It’s a party in a bag!
This little frame helped the party goers make the right choice!
Like I said, I love parties! And SuperBowl parties are the best!
