And the rest of the blocks
Waaaaaay baaaack in February of 2020 I started the Moda Block Heads 3 quilt-a-long. (The world was a lot different back then)
I made every block but didn’t use them all in the two quilts I made. There were 5 applique blocks that I did not put into either. No reason. Really. Other than I just didn’t think that they fit. They have been on my small design board. Just brightening up the room. But I really wanted to do something with them!
And I decided that they would make great accent pieces for the different totes I make. Since I am waiting on the backing fabric for the second Moda BH3 quilt, I thought I’d use my sewing time to throw one together.
Here’s the first one!
It’s now a Beer Bag! You can get the instructions for my tutorial here. The blocks are both from Jan Patek. Block 4 and Block 18. You can still get the free tutorials from the Block Heads 3 Archive.
I have a lot of denim stashed away and pieces of the Zen Chic fabric, Spotted, which I used for the color in the two block head quilts I made.
I used some of the yellow for the interior and the pocket for this bag.
Of course, I had to make a pocket peep to go with the bag!
Okay. I call this a beer bag because I designed it to exactly fit a six pack of bottles. But you can use your imagination and use if for just about anything. This one is currently holding some of my denim stash in preparation for the NEXT tote I make using these blocks. It’s also reversible!
Only three blocks left!
