Very little quilty progress
Went to DC for a week to visit my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson.
Here we are going for a hike fit for a two-year-old.
I love to travel–so much adventure and places to see. But I’m losing my enthusiasm for flying. Now the planes are packed. The seats are small. Customer service is awful. And the planes never arrive on time. At least that was my experience on this trip. We even had a flight canceled and we had to fly out the next day. Way in the back of the plane by the restroom. Ick.
Didn’t do much sewing. Although I did hand stitch Fernie Fox’s tail back on!
But I was thinking about my Rock Star Quilt and ordered another charm square. This time from Hawthorne Supply. I was really surprised that it got here a day after I got home! Quick shipping to North Dakota!
Before it arrived, I cut out a bunch of Starry background blocks to be ready for its arrival.
I was hoping for enough different pinks to make 3 star blocks and enough purple to make 2. One of the pink blocks is on the orangey side and one of the purple is very bluey. And, bonus, I think I can get another blue out of this pack.
Each star block takes 8 colored squares and 8 starry squares.
My latest design. Not sure about the colors in the blocks but I think I might go with this layout. Or maybe not! I still have 6 stars to make and then the filler blocks between each star. I kinda like the idea of an Irish chain. We shall see!
