Firefly Tote–One last post
Well, actually, I will be making more Firefly Totes from Noodlehead and will most likely be posting them here, but no longer will the posts for four weeks be exclusively dedicated to the Firefly! I plan on making these for Christmas gifts. Maybe even hostess gifts. We will see.
It was fun to make and I think it turned out great.
And I made a matching pouch to go with it! I do not have very much of this Rifle Paper Company floral canvas left and I plan to use every scrap!
I’ve made pouches many times. They are relatively easy and a quick gift and an be made in all kinds of sizes. I started out with a tutorial from Purl Soho which I have changed up many times. Different sizes, boxing corners, quilting them, adding appliques and embroidery. All kinds of different iterations. My only disappointment with the pattern are the dented corners. I knew I was doing something wrong and I would just need to do some research. Last Friday it rained. From early in the AM to late in the PM. I had set that morning aside to work in my yard. Rather than work in the rain, I watched an endless supply of YouTube videos on making pouches.
And. Here is the secret. Don’t catch the zipper tabs in the seams. Which should leave a small opening there. Right? But, after turning this one right side out and playing around with it. The hole doesn’t seem to actually be there.
And now, here are the glamour shots of the Firefly Tote and the pouch.
This bag is headed into the “Pamper Me Please” raffle package for the Homosassa Arts, Crafts, and Seafood Festival. Money from the festival supports the Homosassa Civic Club which supports the Old Homosassa Learning Center among many other very worthy community causes. I organize the learning center and teach sewing there plus attend the music jams. This tote will be helping to support the cause I work for.
Back to quilting on Thursday’s post!

Love them! What a super gift to donate for a fund raiser.
Thanks Pamela! I kinda want to keep the tote and pouch but I have way too many already. But they are so pretty!
