Easy-Peasy Envelope Style Pillow Tutorial
One of my goals for this year is updating my tutorials. Making them a little easier to understand. Better pics. Better instructions. I’m calling these my “20/20 Updates” cause I’m using my special 20/20 vision. Ha! I had this one almost ready back in March. Just needed to add the pics to the tutorial. Then the world changed and my mind went back and forth between total shutdown or on overdrive. And I didn’t bother with this tutorial–until yesterday. But here it is….
Next up in my 20/20 updated tutorials is the Easy-Peasy Envelope Style Pillow Tutorial.
I make a lot of pillow covers. Cause I like to change out my pillows. For the season, the holiday, or I just get bored. (Like now with most things out of my control–I can change pillow covers!)
I almost always make them with the envelope-style back. I have thought about putting zippers in but then I go, “why?” I read somewhere that it looks more professional using zippers on your pillows. I’m not a professional. So I’m sticking with easy-peasy.
So here is my new tutorial: Easy-Peasy Envelope Style Pillow Tutorial. Just click on it and download. Or print. Or whatever. Let me know if you do not understand any part of the instructions. (But be nice) When the Sew Cool! Workshop was up and running (so long ago…oh wait, our last session was March 12th) I had lots of testers. Now. It’s just me.
This tutorial is for a 14″ pillow. Kind of a small pillow. But mighty. For this pillow I used the pattern for Block 7 from the Moda BlockHeads 3. I made the blocks in the 4″ size and used a Cotton & Steel charm pack I bought quite some time ago.
I added some white borders.
And then some more borders to bring the pillow front up to 15″. I did some quilting to hold the batting in place.
It brightens up this corner in my bedroom!
Check out the tutorial if you need some easy peasy step by step instructions!
Back next week with more stuff!
