See Ya! 2019!
Was it a good year for you? I think it was a great year for me. I made it through with no broken bones! Yippee!
I had some goals for 2019 which I wrote about the beginning of this year. Did I reach my goals? MMMMMMmmmmm. Let’s check IT OUT! I’m taking the goals in order.
I wanted to learn how to use my Cricut Maker. I kinda sorta did. We don’t do vinyl. Or t-shirts. Because we just don’t want to yet. (And my daughter-in-law Lauri does an excellent job with both of those so I can just ask her to do them! Right Lauri?) We do make fabric letters and we did cut out a fun quilt together. We know each other by our first names. Hi Cricut! Hi Kathy!
Take better pictures. I took a few online classes which were interesting. I have had Canon EOS Rebels since way back when we could only use film. I got my first digital Canon EOS Rebel in 2005. Seven years later it died and I needed a replacement FAST! Went to Sam’s Club and bought a Rebel 3. Didn’t do any research and was often disappointed with it. I’ve had that camera for 8 years now and decided that it needed an update. I wanted to move up to a “professional” camera level from the Rebel level which is advertised for “beginners”. I just couldn’t bring myself to spend that kind of money for a hobby. My new camera is the Canon EOS Rebel T7i. This camera has all the features I was looking for and I’m excited about the possibilities!
Next up on my list for 2019 was sewing. Not more. But sewing. I made six quilts this year. Along with numerous totes and bags and other miscellaneous projects. The most fun were the softies. My grandkids LOVED them and I’ll be making more in 2020!
I thought I wanted to get back into mosaics. Didn’t happen. Have to admit that I really don’t care about getting back into mosaics. That was not a good goal! I made one mosaic this year to celebrate the life of my sweet dog Maggie. We placed it where she liked to lie in the sun and bark at the manatees in the canal.
Playing my piano, banjo, and ukulele more. I have periods of practicing practicing practicing. But than I get busy and it gets pushed down on the priority list! I still enjoy music and am happy when I do get to play.
Rejoice in the opportunity. I believe that I have done a better job of that and am working on balancing my volunteer job with my real life. Last year I was at the Old Homosassa Learning Center three or four days a week. This year I have volunteers that have taken over a lot of the responsibility. I’m usually there on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Both days we have after-school music for the kids. Ukulele on Wednesday and piano on Thursday. I’m able to help out and hopefully get these kids to love music, too.
Losing 15 pounds. I did it! Big WOOT WOOT to me!
Okay. So that was my 2019 goals.
What else did I accomplish? I turned 64!
I’m still thinking about goals and priorities for 2020! Do I really need them since I usually don’t actually stick to them? Will have some thoughts on Thursday! (MAYBE)

Thanks Lauri! You are so good at making t-shirts, etc! Maybe next time I come visit you can give me some tips!
Happy New Year! You accomplished so much last year! Maybe rest more in 2020!
I had so much fun in 2019! Especially the “most happiest day of the year!” I think resting is a great idea in 2020!
