Happy Little Things –Quilt One — Finished!
Yippee!
You’ve followed along as I SLOWLY stitched through this Block of the Month Quilt from Jacquelynn Steves, “Happy Little Things”. I’m making two versions and wanted to get this one finished before Christmas.
Thanks to some really miserable rainy yucky weather on Sunday and Monday, all outdoor activities were canceled and I was able to finish.
Since I’m keeping this quilt and not trying to win any awards, I machine-stitched the binding on. I never would have been able to get it hand-stitched by Christmas–and I’m very goal oriented. That quilt had to be done before my Christmas company arrives on Tuesday! (And my sewing room magically transforms into a guest room!)
I’m calling this one my “Sweet Little Things” quilt. Most of the fabric features sweet treats plus I love those little prancing reindeer.
I wanted to do more quilting. Around each little section. But I was really burnt out on the whole quilting and Christmas patchwork theme. I guess I could do it later (or next Christmas!)
Is there a rule from quilting police that you can’t continue quilting after the binding is on?
This is my last quilt for 2019.
I will finish the second “Happy Little Things” quilt next year! The four main blocks are done. And they are up on my design wall. Maybe that quilt will be my first 2020 finish! Maybe!
