Another Pretty Apron
Sooooooo…..
Sewing and Quilting are not cheap hobbies.
I’m always looking for a deal.
I bought this fabric, English Garden by Rifle Paper Company, from Lady Belle Fabric. With a discount coupon from one of the many quilt blogs that I stalk. It was only good for a few days. Last time there was a good coupon on a blog, I didn’t act fast enough. When I decided to buy the fabric–coupon was out-of-date. Not happening again.
I had not used Lady Belle Fabric before and was pleased with their service. I’ll be ordering from them again. (If I can get a discount!)
(I’m not an affiliate. But always looking to pass on good tips!)
Anyhow….
The fabric is designed by Rifle Paper Company and is from Cotton & Steel. Which is part of Riley Blake fabrics. Phew. So many layers of ownership!
I LOVE Rifle Paper Company products. They make beautiful notepads and other stuff, too.
I also LOVE Cotton & Steel. The prints really appeal to me.
Like I mentioned last week, I intend to use this bunch of lovelies to update my kitchen. I made my last set of potholders several years ago. They are stained and burnt and not happy. Also, there were a few that I had added rick rack to. That melted. Terry now has an ‘ove-glove’ so my new pot holders will not be subjected to cast iron skillet heat, but I learned my lesson on the rick rack! If you are actually going to use something–don’t put the pretties on there! Save that for tea towels and such that will just be on display!
I went through the bundle and found three fabrics that had some metallic flair. Very very pretty but not good for potholders! I whipped this adorable apron up from same tutorial I used for last week’s apron from Sew4Home.com. (Had to use my Bernina for this project since my BabyLock was still on vaca!)
I also had to do some fussy cutting to make sure everything was where I wanted it to be.
But it really turned out cute!
My daughter wasn’t around to model so your stuck with me!
Here’s a few snaps of me pretending to cook!
BabyLock finally came home yesterday. But….might not have any power for a few days. Hurricane Michael is on it’s way and the Sheriff’s office is already telling us to evacuate.
Oh wait, I forgot, this apron is reversible!
Pretty. Pretty. Pretty.
I’m looking forward to getting some more kitchen projects done over the next few weeks!
