Back at it — the Riley Quilt
I have made quite a bit of progress on the Riley quilt.
All the blocks are finished. Since I haven’t decided if I will make two twin quilts or one king, I made 25 blocks. If I made the smaller size, I need 12 blocks for each one. Three across and four down. For the king I need 25. Five across and five down. I’ll be adding borders to bring either one I chose up to size. Have to be honest–I don’t think I want to try to build or quilt a king size quilt. Maybe too much effort for me right now!

Anyhow. Here are 12 blocks set up to be the Riley Quilt. Each block is turned to add interest. Think this will go with me to DC so I can work on it there.
You can check out how I made the original Riley Quilt here. I have been following my own directions in that post and I think they are really good!

Haven’t decided what else I will take with me on our trek. Definitely the cat. Some fabric and maybe hardware for totes. But no sewing machines. They will stay in my sewing studio in NoDak. I have a fun machine already in DC—a Juki TL-18 QVP COL. It’s a straight stitch and I’m considering purchasing another machine that does at least some zig zag. If you have any recommendations, I would love to hear them! (Trish, a reader, suggested the Juki last year and I love it!)
Still have a few weeks to decide. Hoping to head out before the snow starts falling!
