Quilty meanderings
Last week it was cold! Freeze warnings! We switched the fireplace on! Athena curled up on the denim quilt in front of the hearth.
Cut a bunch of flowers that were in bloom, picked the ripe tomatoes and peppers, made pumpkin bread.
It was “fake fall”! This week it is in the 80s! Very lovely weather! But the leaves are changing and I know that the real chilly weather is on it’s way for real.
Meanwhile. I started back on the Riley quilt that I’m making with denim and Tilda calicos. I have enough blocks completed for one twin sized quilt.
A few months ago I was putting twin beds into the grandkids room so I was making matching Riley quilts but that plan has changed. Now I don’t know whether I should continue making two small quilts or should I make one large king sized?
I have all the pieces cut out for the second quilt.
Meanwhile, my Babylock has to go to the spa. The tension is off and she needs her annual checkup. (And that could have been part of my issue with the wonky denim quilt I posted about last week!)
Fortunately I have a couple more machines to use while she is out enjoying herself!
And that cool weather last week put me in the mood to start working on Halloween projects!
