Stitchy Meanderings
Last week I decided to take a wee break from piecing and do some real stitching.
Starting with my WIP (Works in Progress) box… except maybe it should be called WNS as in “Works Never Started”. I bought the supplies, or set the idea aside, and just put it in the BOX.
I was very productive and finished some of those WNSs!
This ND quilt panel. Bought it a few years ago at a quilt shop in Garrison. According to the store owner, it was part of a quilt “shop hop” and there were a few left over. Always meant to make it into a wall hanging.
And I did!
Now I need to find a place to hang it!
On the bottom of the panel were these pics. I’m not sure what I’ll do with them, maybe pillows, embellishment on a tote? Anyhow, since I have no plans for them, into the BOX!
I had a beautiful table runner from Anthropologie in the project box. It was for a very large table which I no longer have. I hated doing it, but I cut it down to fit the 60″ round table I now have in my dining room. Much better on the table rather than stored away.

I have a small piece left of this fabric which I can’t bear to throw out. Into the BOX!
I turned a Carhartt bib overalls into a country-style dress back when I lived in Florida. Tried it on. Thought it would be really cute with boots and a cowboy hat. But. That is just not me. I threw it into the BOX and now I’m changing it into an apron. Not quite done with it yet. But it’s not in the BOX anymore!
There is still stuff in the BOX, but I did make progress!
And one project that wasn’t in the BOX….
We were at an art show this past weekend. Terry pointed out some small pouches and said that was what he needed for his very important cards that he carries. He doesn’t like a wallet. Usually keeps all that stuff in a clip. Like ID and credit cards…..
I very slowly but emphatically said, “You know, that’s what I do. Make things. Like pouches.” Oh yeah…..
Anyhow, after a couple tries, I made this little pouch just for him!
Not crazy about how the corners turned out around the zipper but he’ll test it out for awhile and let me know if it needs updated.
Next I’ll go through my box of tote supplies. Got to be some good stuff in there!
