Quilty Thursday
It’s been an exciting week. My kitchen is almost finished. Probably all done by the end of next week. I have water. I have a dishwasher. I have an oven. I can cook again. But the kitchen still has a bunch of finishing touches. Hopefully by the end of next week. We shall see!
I made a lot of progress with the Cats in Pajamas Quilt! All the cats are finished!
I changed my mind about one of the kitty quilts. I thought I would use six for a baby quilt but once I started adding sashing and borders it was a REALLY BIG baby quilt. Decided to go with four cats and I think that will be a better size. I plan to hit the local quilt shop this week and get some minky for backing.
Here are the four smitten kittens for the baby Fiona.
I’m besties with her Gram Gram and her mom Jessica took over all my duties at the Old Homosassa Learning Center and more. We hired her to do a summer camp for the local kids several years ago and she just worked herself into a fulltime position.
And the rest of the Cats…..
The one in pink on the top right will be a pillow and go to the Fiona’s big sister, Fae.
Sweetest little girl! We had a little acoustic band and a ukulele group that would meet in the learning center and Fae always came in and played along on her ukulele. She was two. Now she’s almost four! Yikes.
I made this quilt for Fae almost four years ago.
The rest of the cats will be a quilt and one pillow. I might keep making the occasional cat but this is it for now.
The Moda BH6 came out yesterday. I don’t plan on making the blocks as they are introduced but just as I have time. I also cut out a LOT of denim patches for my two new Riley quilts. More about that next week!
Now, I’m getting all my dishes sorted and ready to go into my beautiful new kitchen!
