Quilty Thursday—More Starry Stars!
I’m so happy I got my quilty mojo back!
It feels so good to be back cutting up fabric and sewing it back together, I have already started planning my next project and even ordered the fabric! I might even start it before I’m finished with this one. That’s not typical of me. I like to finish a quilt before I start another but I’m going overtime on the quilt mojo!
But Athena is a bit jealous of my return to my sewing machine.
This kitty gets lots of quality time but it’s never enough!
Anyhow,
I am loving this Starry quilt.
All the happy colors!
I have to admit that when I started out I wasn’t quite sure how all of these different colors and shades would look together.
But the Kona Cotton Charms along with the Ruby Star Society Starry is a lovely combo. I find the blocks delightful! (A word I seldom use! But it’s a good word. Delightful—I should use it more!)
I have 13 blocks now.
I made another blue one this week.
Three pinks. (The one on the right is kinda orangey but I’m calling it pink!)
And two purples!
I could only fit 12 on the guest room’s queen-size bed. So one of the pinks didn’t get into the family shot.
And Athena sat on it. And scratched me when I tried to take it back! Verrrrry jealous!
Now I have to decide how big I want it to end up. I’ve already come up with different designs and sizes—the last one would finish at 80” x 80”. I don’t think I want this quilt to be that large. Partly because smaller quilts are easier and faster to quilt on my domestic machine. And I’m thinking simple and quick would be VERY nice.
I haven’t been posting about my eventual sewing room because I haven’t been home much to work on it. I should have a temporary design wall up in a few days. Temporary because I’m not quite sure where I want it to end up permanently.
Next week I won’t be using a bed for my photos shots. Yippee! And I think I’ll have the design picked out!
