Five Weeks Tomorrow!
That refers to our big move. From the nature coast of Florida to Mandan, North Dakota.
Still have so many boxes but most of them are on hold until I get my new sewing space and kitchen renovated.
I hadn’t stitched anything in forever but I really needed to get a sewing “fix” so pulled one of my many machines out and made a little curtain for a wee window in the basement.
It felt so GOOD!
I had the fabric left from making these curtains MANY MANY years ago.
There are two more windows in the basement and I think I have just enough fabric to finish those. I didn’t have any curtain lining left so headed to Joanne’s to get more. (And I have to admit I might have bought a lot of other stuff that I might need. Someday!)
I stitched up that little curtain on the kitchen table but then Terry and I set up a temporary sewing area so I can make the rest of the window decor before my new sewing room is finished.
Speaking of new sewing room, the French door will be installed this weekend. The room will be painted next week. (Planning on hiring my oldest grandson to take on this job!)
Only step left is getting the floor polished. Then I can start QUILTING AGAIN! And I already have plans for a wall hanging that I really NEED TO MAKE for my living room!
Meanwhile, the granddaughters and I have set up a painting station in my eventual creative space. They are amazing artists and I love to encourage their skills.
And I’m having so much fun with the grandkids. Besides being artistic, Piper and Adley are also very athletic. Took Piper to a golf clinic and Adley to a morning volleyball camp this past week. Piper is attending the volleyball camp next week and Adley will be at the golf clinic. Hoping to get the girls interested in golf so we can hit some 9-hole courses this summer.
Meanwhile, I’m slowly working through the knitting book I bought. First project is a washcloth. Easy peasy. Almost done!
No surprise flowers this week but I am keeping an eye on peonies that are right outside my front door!
And Athena is keeping an eye on that bunny right by the front door, too!
