Name Pillow DIY
I’ve been making these “Name Pillows” for as long as I’ve had grandkids. The oldest just turned 22! So that’s a loooong time!
They are usually different for each kid.
The one thing they have in common is that they all use a 12″ x 16″ pillow form. Which can be picked up at WalMart, Joannes, or Amazon. And they are relatively inexpensive.
I was invited to a Thanksgiving dinner last year and knew that our hosts two small grandkids would be there so I made them pillows. I purchased two yards of this great dinosaur fabric from Timeless Treasures at our local quilt shop, Beyond the Stitches.
I made these for Corbin and Caden. I made two more, one for my grandson Arthur and another for a friend’s granddaughter, Fae. (Didn’t take pictures!)
Then I found this amazing dinosaur fabric at Hawthorne Supply Company.
And again made pillows for Arthur and Fae. A Valentines surprise!
Then, because it’s almost Easter and I was visiting Arthur last week, I made one more pillow for him!
Anyone that loves Ruby Star Society Fabrics will recognize that this fabric was designed by Sarah Watts. I’ve had it in my stash for a very long time and love it so much. This was from the Black and White line from Spring 2015 when the designer was with Cotton & Steel. You can still get fabric from Sarah Watts but now the line is with Moda.

If you try the tutorial, let me know how you like it. I don’t have anyone to test these patterns so I make them a bunch and check them over and over and think it’s perfect until I make them again in a few months and I say to myself, “and why did you do that?”
Anyhow, they really are easy and cute and I usually whip them up in a couple of hours. And BONUS–the kids always love them!
