2024 Ends and 2025 Begins
I’m not making any resolutions this year. Well, other than celebrating my birthday as often as possible.
2024 was a year of change. Sold our house of 20 years—left Florida where I had first moved to in 1982. Back to the cold white North.
Did I mention that during my move from Florida to North Dakota that I gave almost my entire huge library away? I had already gone way over the limit of boxes that the moving company gave me and I sadly delivered the books to a local thrift shop that supports hospice for kids.
I started my library when I got divorced in 1990. One of my goals after that debacle was to have BOOKS and read everything I could get my hands on. That library moved many times into several different homes.
Guess that was my biggest regret from the move. Not that I was moving out of my dream home or leaving my friends behind—my books. My second regret is selling my Jeep. I loved that thing. But to be honest, there was a minuscule back seat, it rode really rough, and Terry doesn’t drive anymore so I sure do not need two vehicles.
On the sewing and crafty front, I finished TWO quilts this year! I made other quilted items but “Spooky Mabel” and “In a Heartbeat” were the only large quilts that I completed.
I made a lot of other stitchy projects but most of my creative time was spent setting up my new amazing sewing studio.
Now I’m setting up my sewing corner in our DC apartment and looking forward to getting back to sewing.
Oh yeah, I’m also slowly hand quilting “Lucy”.
I predict 2025 will be a year of momentous highs and lows. And lots of family visits.
We shall see!

Love the family photo with someone in that NO PICTURE phase! Quilts as always are outstanding and beautiful! Happy New Year!

Thanks Terry! I’m no good at taking selfies but happy that Andrew is! Arthur is always happy until we get the camera out!
