2021 Wrap Up
I’m a week late on my end-of-year wrap up. So much STUFF has been going on that has kept me out of my sewing room and off of my blog! But the company is gone, the parties are over, and the house is de-Christmased. (It looks so empty and sad)
Anyhow. It was mostly a good year for us. And I’m not going to think about the bad stuff. (Hey, Terry and I didn’t get covid!!! Yippee!)
One of the highlights was Miss Kitty finding me! Here she is the first day that she decided that this would be a good place to live….
She showed up in my driveway on May 14th. Skinny, limping, and covered with bug bites.
Here she is yesterday…
Fat, sassy and happy! I asked her vet last week if she was overweight. He said no, “she’s just a well fed cat”. After living with us for a few weeks she decided that she would not be going back outside. I can even leave the door wide open and she says “nope”. (Although she does like spending time in the screened room which is now the catio.)
Besides getting a cat, I managed to finish seven quilts in 2021.
And here they are in no particular order!
…..two were the “Hope” wall hangings. Do wall hangings count as quilts? Well there is stitching, batting, basting and binding so I say YES!The pattern is by HappySewLucky.
This was the first one and I kept it.
I gave the second to my daughter.
She sent me this picture of her “Hope and Peace” corner.
I made the Roman Shades for Jes many years ago for a different home. We were able to adjust them and put them in her new house. And Whiskey the cat is sitting on the quilt I made her. That’s the backing. Soft pink minky! That’s one of the seven quilts I made this year. Here’s a better pic:
The fabric is Mod Meow by Amanda Niederhauser For Riley Blake. I have several more large cats that I can appliqué. I’m hanging onto them until I find another great project that they would be perfect for.
I finished two Moda Blockheads 3 quilts and they are now on the grandkids’ bed. They usually argue about who gets to sleep with the big dog!
Speaking of grandkids, the oldest granddaughter graduated from high school and also moved into her own apartment.
I gave her the scrappy denim quilt as a house warming gift . Another one that I finished in 2021.
And a Baby Rockstar Quilt for a friend.
I made lots of other stuff. Like bags, and softies, and hats, and…..
But that’s for another post. Or not.
Happy 2022!
